(Side-note first: When I first ordered the above Sigg, it arrived with a dent on the side. In case you have ever wondered about Amazon returns, the whole process was so easy and Amazon shipped me a replacement very quickly. This aforementioned note ties in with my review below.)

I know that Siggs get mixed reviews. I also know that Amazon has this Sigg for a great price. I had checked both Targets in my area and Earth Fare (a natural grocery store) for cool Siggs, but all they had in stock were Siggs with yoga-ish images on them; images that do not fit my seven-year-old. And let's face it- HK rules. Anyway, I checked out the Sigg website to get the whole "leak-proof" scoop. And since I had the first dented Sigg in my clutches, I experimented with it by filling it up with vod- oops, I mean water...and turning it upside-down for a bit to see if it leaked. It didn't. So, as you know, I sent back the damaged Sigg and Amazon sent out my replacement. So, did we all live happily ever after with castles and princes, and our Sigg acting as the maid-of-honor? Uh, not really. After about two and a half weeks of use my daughter had placed her Sigg on its side in her backpack and it leaked. I was surprised; I just figured it was too much for the Sigg to take as the apple juice inside was about two days old (school was dismissed early and the kids didn't have snack; she puts the Sigg in a fridge at school, so I assumed the juice would be O.K., please don't call CPS), but I guessed that maybe it leaked due to possible apple juice gases that had formed inside the Sigg. Well, it happened again yesterday...I discovered the Sigg on its side in my daughter's backpack, but this time it did not have possibly explosive juice in it, so what gives? When I had checked the Sigg website it stated that leakage might occur to a damaged seal, but our seal is perfectly fine and intact. The website did not state anything about leakage if the bottle is in a certain position (e.g.upside-down, sideways); one would think that is why Sigg produced and touts a leak-proof bottle, because who the heck has time to constantly police the position of their water bottle?! Hey- I know what you're thinking...that my rugrat did not screw the lid on tight either time. Guess what? I checked, and she had screwed the lid on snugly. Wish I could say she was her usual breeze-by-responsibility-self in these above cases, but alas, I cannot. So disappointed that we are stuck with a leaky Sigg with no little Dutch boy in sight...

This is a great water bottle. I bought it after I purchased another one that I loved. It's durable. It's been dropped many times by my toddler. There is a slight dent from one of the drops, but no cracks, chipping or scratches. It hasn't leaked at all. The lip of the bottle is very comfortable to drink from; it really forms to your lips. I noticed this right away; it's much different than any other water bottle I've owned.
